I love the fact that Oprah is ‘doing her part’ by adopting a puppy from a shelter. She can buy ANY puppy she wants but realizes there are soo many lil puppies out there (including lots of purebreds) who need a home. Rest in Peace, Ivan, and Get Well Soooon, Sadie! (-:

This is wonderful news and I hope it makes more people aware of the wonderful dogs that are at the animal shelters and need homes. The adoption option is all about saving a life.

I am so happy for Oprah. Losing a canine family member is so heartbreaking. Adding a new canine family member is the beginning of a wonderful new chapter in a person’s life (and the dog’s).
Oprah and the rest us who really love our dogs, should thank our lucky stars that we still have the option of adding a new canine family member to our household. Someday, if PETA, HSUS and PAWS Chicago have their bullying way, we won’t be able to have the privelege of sharing our lives with our much loved and cherished canine companions.
